My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

Sunny times at Nymans and Bramber....

I went over to Nymans today... the sun was shining and the sky was blue - it was glorious...

Lights along some of the paths.

Decided I was hungry - not much breakfast... so a rather nice fruit scone with Strawberry jam and a cupp hit the spot rather nicely... a scone scor of 4.5 out of 5 - lovely and crumbly and still on the warm side :D

A female chaffinch looking under the leaves...

and lovely to see these still in bloom.. given it's beginning of December!!

There was one room open in the house - Christmas as in Victorian times... but no natural light so just the one, rather blurry, picture...

I went south, and then on the way home decided to investigate Bramber Castle.. passed it so many times but today I actually visited the Church and the ruins of the Castle

and it was!!!

was really lovely to have the sun and warmth.... hopefully the same for next Saturday when going somewhat further north :D

Warnham LNR - a very brief visit

Popped into Warnham this afternoon.. nice to be out and about again.  The sky was blue when I left home but whilst I was there - dark clouds and a heavy shower but it was good to see a rainbow

In terms of birds - not many around the feeders but a Little Egret out on the lake with many gulls, a pair of swans and three cormorants perched in the tree opposite.

 Short but sweet.

A very brief walk up to Cissbury Ring

I met my daughter this morning and we had rather a wicked hot chocolate at the Beach Cafe... very nice...  After getting lunch for Mum and, as the sun was now shining, I headed off and there was for a walk up to Cissbury Ring.  However, given that wet chalk downs are incredibly slippery, I decided that, in the strong wind, going any further up was not a good idea... as mostly I was slipping backwards.

But the views before the climb were rewarding and the sun was out.  So the short walk was pleasant after all.

Pulborough Brooks in the frost with brilliant sunshine

I'm fairly restricted at the moment due to family duties, but I did manage to escape for a couple of hours today... after having spend some time scraping frost/ice of the car I headed of for Pulborough.

There's a small airfield close by and gliders were up high!

The frosty grass looked good in the sunlight... some didn't even clear as it didn't get the sun.

Quite a few birds about including Black Tailed Godwits

and at least eleven Snipe... they were quite a distance off though..

Despite the cold day the sun was wonderfully warm... and this rabbit dozed in the sun

Canada Geese  getting very confused as they landed on the ice expecting it to be water!!

Just lovely to get out on such a gorgeous day!!
