My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

15 - 17 November, 2022 - Last few days in Thailand, in Chaing Mai via Bangkok to Cha-Am

We left Chiang Mai on 15 November and got an internal flight south to Bangkok Airport.
From there we went by coach for about at 3 hour drive to Cha-Am where we were to spend the last couple of days of our holiday.

It was an amazing holiday, experiencing a cpmpletely different culture, cuisine and incredible architecture.  Lots of memories and new friends made.
And discovered a few new birds for me as well!

On the way to Cha-Am leaving Bangkok airport

We arrived at about 8.30 in the evening and immediatly went to the restaurant for an evening meal  which was provided and waiting for us.  We passed the swimming pool on our way through the extensive grounds.

My room!  The bed was huge!!

and a bathroom you could get lost in

The following morning I woke to this view from my window!

The following pictures were taken over the remaining days where we were very lazy!

No idea what this flutter is... it wouldn't settle with its wings open.

A walk on the beach.

White-vented Myna... sitting outside my room.

And yes, I did go in the pool.

The End of a great holiday.. now, where to next ? ..

Chiang Mai. Sunday 13 November 2022 Jungle Garden, Temples and a Waterfall

Last full day in Chaing Mai Sun 13 November 2022 - before travellng south for a stay in Cha-Am and my last three days of my Thailand holiday.

Chaing Mai was once the capital city of the Lanna Kingdom.  On 13th November, we visited a locally family and learnt about Lanna traditions, architecture , handicraft and food.  The pictures are of their jungle garden, which provided many food items.

We had lunch at the house and then set off for the sacred temple, Doi Suthep.. sitting high on a hilltop overlooking the city.

The day ended  with a visit to a waterfall near a temple,  on our way back to the hotel.
A full but very enjoyable day!.

No idea what this beautiful damselfly is..

And then to the temple at the top of a hill in Soi Suthep

And the last stop of the day...with a waterfall at What Pha Lat

(The waterfall went on for a long way
but time didn't permit us to clamber down the sides to see all of it.)

The end of a lovely day, and tomorrow?  We fly from Chiang Mai to Bangkok and then on to Cha-Am.
