I was visiting Mum down in West Sussex today. Little did I know that my daughter and Boo the dog were on the beach at the same time. Apparently Boo wouldn't move forward at one time, and kept looking back - not behaving normally. Having spoken recently to my daughter, she was convinced that it was because Boo knew I was there. Isn't that amazing!! (I got it wrong because I thought my daughter was working today!!)
We had lunch at our favourite cafe, The Sea Lane cafe - Crab Sandwich and Apple Juice for Mum and a Jacket Potato with Brie and Bacon and a coffee for me. Gosh - it was good - very good!!!!
The sun was shining; it was beautifully warm; a significant south westerly breeze and clear blue skies - the kite surfers were taking full advantage of the elements. It was spectacular to watch the sheer athleticism of the young surfers.
(If anyone recognises themselves in these pictures, I hope you don't mind my reproducing them here - I admire your skills and grace in riding the elements).
(I was also experimenting (in some pics) with manual settings...)

Must have just missed you I dont think this lad will mind as they dont usually come that close to the cafe...hmm displaying perhaps! And boo tried tripping me up just thought she had seen someone who looked like you! Next time let me know you are coming, miss ya!
Wow, what amazing photos Tricia, real action stuff, very nicely captured.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if Boo knew you were there, I am positive we have much, much more to learn about dogs, and animals in general I suppose. Incidentally our very first dog, a Labrador was called Boo. He had already been named Mike when we had him but he became Boo, I think it was to do with the old song 'Me and You and a Dog Named Boo'.
That jacket potato with Brie and Bacon sounded wonderful, yum yum!
;)
Hi Tricia. Now that is an excellent 'action' series. Something quite different from you. Well done. By the way 'brie & bacon' seems to ring a bell! FAB
Hi Tricia,
I did not know you were a sport reporter now ;-)
Excellent series of dynamic pictures! I guess the guy would not mind and will even be happy to see these shots!
Great set of action pictures Tricia.
Hi SPD - I'm sooooo sorry I missed you - in every sense!!
Jan - thank you. I'm sure you're right! If you ever come down to Sussex you HAVE to eat there!
Frank - Thanks - I just couldn't sit there without grabbing some shots... it was just too tempting!
Brie and Bacon ringing a bell! I'm sure I don't know what you mean! Lol
Chris - I can't claim to be a sports reporter; but it was just an excellent photo opportunity that could NOT be missed! And I hope the subject is pleased if he ever finds his way here!
Keith - thank you :)
Hi Tricia, what an amazing set of action shots, you must have been very close to the action, they're great.
Dogs are so perceptive, I had a Bedlington Terries years ago and we were walking around Chipping Campden church in hot summer sunshine, when he stopped growled at a piece of grass and refused to budge. I led him away and tried again, same thing, trying once more he again absolutely refused to walk over this piece of grass. Something under there was upsetting him, and we left VERY quickly!!
Hey Tricia, so where are the shots of you trying out the board. {:)
A great series of action shots, Tricia. Were you not tempted to give it a try?
Andrew - Thank you for your kind comments. The surfers were coming quite close in and it helped that it was high tide. I also had the zoom lens on the camera!
Interesting abut your terrier - I think I would have bolted!
Roy - erm erm I didn't want to risk getting the camera wet ;)
John - I was so disappointed that I'd forgotten the towel otherwise...... :D
Wow, some nice moves there.
Wonderful set of action shots....it was very entertaining to go through this person's fun filled day. Exciting :)
OC - it amazes me how these surfers can leap up, turn 360 degrees feeding the bars through their hands and not leave go of the sail!!
Nature As Is - it was entertaining to watch too :D
The Gorse Fox thought these might be pictures of him.... but on checking realised they cant't be... he hasn't got shorts like that (or the skill, the agility, the youth, the figure, the hair, the wetsuit, the board or the kite)... no, it's not him!
Ah GF - I had wondered; mystery solved and my questions answered!
