Anglesey Abbey.. it was a dull day but...

This morning I headed off for Anglesey Abbey.  I was going to start at Hatfield Forest but felt very lazy...

It was lovely to arrive as it opened and had the car park more or less to myself.  The light was a dull grey (when is it ever not this colour).. but it was great to wander around... it got warmer and at one point I was too hot in just a sweater and jacket!!

Evidence of my stroll around today!

There were ladybirds everywhere - far too many to count... most were engaged in activities that were ensuring the continuation of the ladybird race... ;)

At the visitor centre, this blue tit had declared war on its own reflection.. it was pausing for breath!

And I wasn't the only one who enjoyed the Coffee and Walnut Cake

The mill was open today and in action... flour was being produced!

Some wonderful photos there Tricia. The gardens at Anglesey Abbey are truly beautiful and you have captured them so well.

Great statues. I love the one of Pan. Would love to have that in a corner of my garden. I can't get over the bugs that are about and all the flowers that are in bloom.

Thanks for the tour, Tricia. So wonderful to see your early spring flowers; it will be a few more weeks til ours begin to show.
