My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

Great Crested Grebes are nesting on the lake again..

I've not been able to get out with the camera for pictures or even some much needed exercise recently due to other commitments

However I did take Mum out for a drive during the week and we stopped by to see whether the Great Crested Grebes were nesting yet on a local privately owned lake...

Well they are back and they are on a nest.  The lake is very large and they were some distance away; she stayed on the nest during the time we were watching so not possible to see if any eggs were present.  However, her general demeanour suggested there were some in the nest.

This was the male Grebe a long way off but I just like the picture overall and the stillness of the water.

On Mum's neighbours TV aerial a Songthrush sang its heart out... I'd like to think it's the one that sings every day.

And the sun shone where I am this morning; the Starlings were fighting over the fat cakes.

 Ballet for Birds?

Not long before it clouded over but the Blackbird carried on singing.

And I have moved in with the House Sparrows... everywhere you go in the village you can hear them chirruping away... lovely!

and then out to lunch for Mothering Sunday (and delayed birthday celebrations for Mum)... Mum, my daughter and grandson, my brother and I all went to one of my favourite pubs overlooking Pulborough Brooks.  Needless to say it was extremely busy and unfortunately we weren't near a window to enjoy the view... but the company was excellent.  A good

Love the new header Tricia.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is the same thrush. It would make sense for him to sing in the same spot to mark out his territory.

I love the header too, they're one of my favourite birds :D.
