My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

Lavenham and Long Melford

The weather was dull, wet and cold so where to go?  We headed off to Lavenham via a stop in Sudbury.

Lavenham is fascination and full of very old Tudor buildings.

We were getting hungry stopped at the National Trust's Guildhall tea rooms in Lavenham, for a spot of lunch.  Mixed Vegetable soup - very nice and very welcome on a cold day!

We saw this sign - a picture of Egrets with the saying: Egrets - I've had a few

and here is Pete demonstration this... ;)

St Peter and St Paul the church at Lavenham

couldn't resist this... it was a picture on the notice board

and from there to All Saints,  at Acton (nr Sudbury)
The Church isn't often open but today there was a charity bike ride stopping at many churches in the surrounding area... so we were lucky to find it open.

From there onto Long Melford - we were missing Cake while we were away.

Lemon Drizzle and Victoria Sponge - very nice and washed down with a cuppa!

Then a stroll around the gardens (to walk off the cake ;) )

Signs of Autumn with Autumn Cyclamen.

Despite the weather a very enjoyable day out.....
