Ely Cathedrdal.. and the sun shone!

Given the weather forecast suggest even more of the wet stuff, albeit with sunny intervals, we sought somewhere indoors today and headed off to Ely Cathedral.. a beautiful building!

The drive up was.. very sunny.. the clouds cleared and the sky was... mostly blue! :)

We left the cathedral and went in search of the Farmers' Market, passing this shop on the way.

The rain then started in earnest so dived into Waitrose for supplies before heading back to the car.

And where to for lunch?  The sun was out again so we headed off for Anglesey Abbey.

Having had a hearty brekkie, we decided soup would be enough and, with considerable self-control we denied ourselves a slice of cake...

However, the winter vegetable soup was very nice accompanied by a cuppa...

And a short wander through the gardens...

Snowdrops everywhere...

and oh, how cheery that blue sky and the sun was!!!

I need a macro lens!!

A lone cygnet swan in the swollen river!!

The wind was getting up as we left for home.... and a shower or two... but..

A lovely day out in gorgeous sunshine - really lifted the spirits.. which was much needed!!

It certainly looks like spring has arrived there. The cathedral is absolutely beautiful. Those cakes look mouth watering.
