However, undeterred we set off for Ickworth.
This area (originally the kitchen garden) has been turned over to wild flowers in anticipation of the garden being restored to what it was 100 years ago.
It was still very colourful so must have been great a few weeks earlier.

A macro moth.... so very very tiny - no idea what it is...
We walked near the lake and then sat watching the birds at the bird feeders. It was very well populated
Hightlights were Marsh Tit, Chiffchaff, Great Spotted Woodpecker and Nuthatch.
Spent quite some time at the feeders, but visited St. Marys Church (in the grounds of Ickworth) on the way back.
Hungry by now, we had soup from The Porters Lodge and took this back to the car to eat.
An impromptu but lovely day out..

Your moth is a micro moth, called a Nettle-tap.
The fungus is a Chicken of the Wood. It is edible.
