The weather's been dire, which could not have escaped everyone's attention in the UK!! I've pottered to various places and felt in need of colour. So the other day I headed off for RHS Wisley to check on progress of the new bird hide. Didn't look much different to when I was last there. Hey ho... perhaps it will be good for Autumn watching!
and cascading Wisteria!

and yesterday, over at London Wetland Centre, in the grey, cold and drizzly weather a Grey Heron posed!

and another, out on the scrape, fished for "tiddlers"

And a Common Tern kept us entertained for some time - wheeling about and diving for fish.
(I do wish they'd change the height of the windows in the hides at London Wetland Centre - just couldn't follow the tern as it dived in front of us!) Well that's my excuse anyway ;)![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGacH0DQG7HKpXRy1E15wOcNvg-o7HAOP8KMlSDcFpubbxhknCydor2JhqvGdlcEbVDqqCjht5FknNvq4T4UkgpF7MUQiKlKm0LMwlVw9jadHKXO7VNgO-yo44CkjXfxfItUcKhmsXyI8/s320/2010-05-08+Bds+Barnes-2+EX.jpg)

The weather really is dire your right Tricia.
You found some colour though. Thanks for sharing it around !
Those flowers are beautiful Tricia. Like rays of sunshine on dull days.
Love the tulips in with the daffs.
Laughing ducks are great; and the Heron headshot is a cracker.

Your flower for i.d. look like Pasque Flower, Pulsatilla..
Cheers
Maurice
Lots of beautiful flowers Tricia.
Who was that duck laughing at I wonder??
Hi Tricia the unidentified plant looks like a pasque flower.
Those flowers would brighten up the most dreary of days. They seem to glow in your photos.
Lol, that's a fine looking bear there Tricia. The flowers are just wonderful. I'm envious! Our weather has been dreadful as well.
The weather has been sooo dull and cold here too, Tricia :(
Nice, colourful flowers to brighten us up though :) Yes, definitely Pasque flower, I planted one in the garden just a couple of weeks ago.
The Cormorant doesn't look as much like a witch as the one on my post :)
Your header photo makes me smile every time I visit!
And what an eye watering array of colours, on such a dull, and grey day. Once again Tricia, beautiful camera work!
paul.
