One good Tern...

I've been rather busy lately but am now just beginning to catch up with anything and everything!!

Had a quick wander around Bushy the other day, when a party of very young Long Tailed Tits came through. They didn't stay for long and neither, as is their wont, stay still either!!

This male Mandarin caused a very colourful reflection with the addition of the trees in the pond.

A Comma flutterbye basked in the sun.

Over at Barnes last Saturday, the Terns were fishing and diving incredibly fast. I was in a different hide this time, which made getting some pics much easier.

And an unexpected visitor - a Bar-headed Goose which must have escaped from somewhere. Interestingly the Greylag Goose seemed to tolerate its presence but the Bar-headed didn't stay around for very long!

before flying off. Pity I couldn't get the whole bird in shot!!

More birds and wildlife in the pipeline when I can catch up with myself :D

Hi Tricia,
Very nice post once again. I do love the mandarin a lot with the reflection effect, it is perfect... None of the birds you show there are around here except that we do have some terns

Tricia.
Once again beautiful photography!
The LTT'S, sooo cute.
Male Mandarin reflection, brill.
Your Comma butterfly, you have caught so much detail in it + the sunshine, and background shadows.
But the big WOW comes with the in flight Tern photo's your out of focus background has given so much detail to them, nothing left to say
but, Superb. You really do have an eye for that main photo, keep em coming.

I'm playing catch up too lol

Unusual to see the Bar-headed Goose about. Nice looking though.
The Mandarin and his reflection are very striking.

Chris - The Mandarins look so exotic at this time of the year. But terns are such elegant birds aren't they!

Bob - thank you.. it was good to have some decent light.

Paul - Thank you so much. The Comma was just in the right place and I think just strengthening its wings so keeping very still which helped enormously. Those tiny hairs on its body can often make a picture be so out of focus!

Pete - I was rather pleased with them - for a change!

Roy - yes just a case of right place right time. It didn't stay for long. Be interesting to know how it got there and where it went!

Frank - thank you! There's something about Terns :D

Wilma - thank you very much!

OC - thank you as always :D

Keith - Seems in the winter I'm trying to find something to blog about and then Spring comes and we get overloaded with choice! Keep it coming say I :D

Lovely photos again, Tricia! I still haven't seen a Mandarin but would love to as they look so exotic.

Not many butterflies here so far but it has warmed up considerably today so there should more soon.

Karen and Jan - my apologies for not coming back sooner than this.

Thank you both for your comments.

Karen - the LTT's are such pretty birds that I can't resist them!

Jan - As I type it's about 30 degrees and whilst I wanted things a bit warmer.....!!!

Flutters about and now damsels and dragons to try to catch through the lens!
