The other morning, I had a visit from one of the local foxes again. He wandered around; paid the greenhouse a visit...
And today - in the sun and strange new warmth :D, the Red Damselflies started to emerge from the garden pond.
I'm still not very happy with my macro lens and this is the best I could do without falling in the pond! There were at least 5 flying about and of these, definitely 2 pairs.... great stuff. I shall be keeping my eyes open for Dragons every day now!
Just a short post today.... back to the picture sorting now...

Tricia, do you have a ring flash for your macro lens? if not, well worth looking into, good piece of kit.

The fox said "I can see you but you can't see me"..fabulous. Our night time visitors have been rooting through a few pots, not sure what they expect to find. FAB.
Love the fox peeping out of the flowers. Guess it will be a while longer before I see any of the aquatic insects emerging.
Amazing fox pics, lovely to have wildlife so close to your doorstep, considering we have taken over their habitat we should feel privildged to have them so close! very misunderstood creatures!! I would love to have the chance to see them here!
The dragonfly pics are wonderful too. You reallt seem to capture nature at it's best.

That Fox...what a beauty! How lucky to have him so close. Not that I would want one that close having the hens and all, lol....Still, it would be a treat. The damsels are lovely.

Chris - thank you. We get quite a few urban foxes; mostly looking for food.
Paul - no I only have the built-in camera flash. My macro lens is a prime 90mm and I could really do with something like a 150mm and relevant ring flash. I'll have to keep saving!!

John - I've been looking for dragons and damsels today at Painshill. Found some but the camera lens didn't - think I was too late in the day as they were too active.

OC - He was a bit of an odd character with that black patch on the side of his mouth. Great to see the damsels coming out of the pond!
(I say "his" but can't really make up my mind as s/he was so far away)
Lovely photos, I particularly like the second one of the fox which made me laugh :) They only seem to visit our garden at night.
Not seen many damsels and dragons yet despite the warmer weather.
