and finally - in the rain - St Giles, Upton and Farnborough!!

Well the last few days had gone so quickly and it seems as though the holiday has just begun!

Today I awoke to my final day and a very very wet one!!. The B&B has been great and the food of the Red Lion is to be recommended..... the diet starts soon :D

Our first port of call was St Giles Church in Bredon.

Beautiful flowers once again and some pretty amazing statutory!! I still haven't got the hang of indoor photography so need more practice!!

From there we went on to Upton House - again soup was on the menu and again I'm sure it was homemade!! Loverly :D

Dodging the rain we managed to see some of the gardens.

Kitchen garden on a slope! or hill almost.

The trunk of these conifers wet with rain shone with a deep mahogany hue!

Inside - how about this for a library!

And I've got this piece of Sevres on my Christmas list... :D My favourite colour too.

Very much the 1930's style and this was evident in much of the house.

From there a diversion to All Saints, Burton Dassett - no pictures included of this church; for some reason I'm having problems with them all so shall have to reload them onto the PC at another time. They're weren't very many and not very good so no loss methinks!

And finally, onto Farnborough Hall Although this is a National Trust property it was very badly signposted and no indication of where you could park. We managed to get into a slot vacated by another visitor but all very odd.

The heavens opened yet again so our tour round the gardens was of the "dodging showers" type. There was no photography allowed in this house - no reason given. And the camera stayed in my pocket more than in gainful employment. There is a terrace walk but by that time the rain had started in earnest.

Pete did manage to see a Kingfisher flash through the gardens but I missed it.

And we headed off for a local Garden Centre where we had a cuppa and very nice piece of cake before returned to the Red Lion. Unfortunately I hadn't been able to get accommodation for that night so after a rather nice meal (and passing on the wine) I headed off for an uneventful and straight forward journey home.

A really lovely break of a few days in one of my favourite spots and in good company too. Thanks Pete :) Here's to better weather....
