My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

Sun and warmth.. out with the cameras

Day dawned.. to a brilliant sun - Pete and I headed off for Amwell initially.. there was a cold wind but somehow it didn't matter.

Lots of birds about and a family of Oystercatchers...Warblers everywhere and we heard many warblers:
Cettis, Reed and Sedge, Blackcaps, Lesser Whitethroat, Common Whitethroat, Grasshopper Warbler (fantastic to hear)

Not much near enough for pics except for the handsome chappie.

OK... a bit of shopping and some brekkie then off to Audley End..we were early and didn't have to queue to get in unlike some other late arrivals.

Opposite Audley End Gardens - fields of Rape for rape seed oil!  brilliant colour in the May sun

A trip around the lake and the gardens.  We had a cuppa on arrival but neither of us that hungry so we didn't stop for lunch.

We stopped for some food shopping in Saffron Walden - a very pretty town which I rather liked. Just a couple of pics here...

and then onto Finchingfield
