My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

A new local - Southwater Country Park

I had limited time today and the weather was really dull - yet again!

I'd been meaning to visit Southwater Country Park, close by me, for sometime now and today I went off for a walk.

It's a bit lake which supports boating activities.  There's also a quarry lake which I didn't have time for today - so bookmarked for the next visit.

The birds life - saw a small flock of Long-tailed Tits.  On the jetty were a family group of 2 Adult Mute Swans and their 4 cygnets; the four youngsters were having flying lessons from one end of the lake to the other.  One lone Cormorant which flew off before long and the numerous Black-headed gulls and Coots.  And just 2 Mallards.

You can walk all around the lake.. so I did.

Tricia, you make me want to go for hikes even though my body is telling me NO!!! But there are birds and your pics are as always beautiful....cloudy or not. So thanks for sharing your walks and encounters. That's quite the collection of water birds:)

I appreciate the fact that you don't let wet weather deter your walks, and with camera in hand, go off to enjoy nature and share your time with us.
