It's August, 4th 2014... 100 years ago it was......

Today we acknowledge the beginning of WW1 - 100 years ago today,  - a war so dreadful one would have hoped it would be the last.. a war to end all wars,   but no - countries didn't learn.  And tonight, my lights will go out....

We owe so much to those who have given their lives in that and subsequent wars.  Men so young that at, 16 they were merely boys.. hard to imagine in this day an age and at any other time.

I shall put off the lights at 22.00 tonight; the candle is ready to be lit.

And I will give thanks to all those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we could lead the lives we do today.
