Warnham for a wander

Needed to get out with the camera so off to my local.

Pleased to see the three Great Crested Grebe juveniles are still with Mum and Dad, and additionally one youngster with a single parent.

Brief glimpses of the Kingfisher today; mostly from the Heron hide.  Needless to say, I'd just missed a nearly perching Kingfisher at the Tern hide!!...

The pair of Egyptian Geese were apparent today.. having taken over the tern raft!

Speckled Wood flutter.. first one I've managed to photograph this season.

A young Moorhen strutting its stuff under the bird feeders.

Many goldfinchs, Blue andCgreat tits, a single Coal Tit on the feeders.  Numbers have increased in the cooler weather.

A few Greenfinches as well,.....

The usual Mallards, and about 7 Grey Herons.

This youngster was being pushed away by its parent.

I wandered through the board walk area..

There's a new hide at the end of the board walk..   A bit deserted today....

and back along the path... another Speckled Wood posed for me.  I'd never really appreciated its colours before... sun was in the right place today.

and an Elephant Hawkmoth caterpillar.....

Lots of elderberries..

A pleasant stroll and good to get some exercise... must go further afield over the weekend!
