My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

Not much time...

For various reasons I'm a bit time-constrained at present but did manage to nip over to my local patch - Bushey Park for a brief time. Another grey grey day - will we ever see the sun again? It's really getting quite depressing.

Lots of people about including one Police community support officer (Chris) with bicycle; we had a long chat about this and that and the behaviour of people using the park generally. Must be nice to do a job that involves being in one of the Royal Parks!

Not much happening but did have a great spot today - stood around for ages trying to get some decent shots and managed the following. Just wish it had been better light and they much nearer.

I heard the wrens and it took a while to see them. They had a nest somewhere in last year's dead bracken. It was very difficult to find or spot them as they and the bracken are the same colour.

A herd of Fallow deer males were being "up close and personal". Fortunately the public were following the guidelines and not petting or feeding them.

A Grey Heron youngster was trying to catch a meal when a dog scared it away (not my charge I hasten to add).

The deer are beautiful. I too am wondering if we'll ever see the sun again. It's been an awful spring here.
