Spring - the clues..

I listened this morning to the birds singing their socks off - it's a wonderful musical entertainment. The visiting male Blackcap joined in - such a pretty song. The Great Spotted Woodpecker that's been drumming in the same spot in the same oak tree was drumming yet again.

And then this evening the Robin and Blackbird were competing for the "top of the pops" spot as daylight gave way to evening twilight!

Another warm day with some sunshine and a bright, but not necessarily blue sky. I didn't have a whole day free so this morning I trotted off to Bushy. All the clues that Spring is now well and truly here were evident as I walked...

The Crocuses shone brilliantly..
Camelias glowed sedately..
Mahonias showed flowers, scentedly ....
Bees buzzed contentedly
The Spring bubbled tinklingly
while the squirrel paused shyly
frogs spawned enthusiastically..
and a Red Admiral shone wonderfully
(my first flutter of the season - woo hoo)
Parakeets cuddled procreatively...
Blue tits peered about hopefully..
and some look for insects hungrily
Nuthatches dashed about speedily

I headed off - contentedly....

Hi Tricia, even I can work from your clues that spring could well be happening.
Fabulous to get a Red Admiral Tricia and he is in pretty good shape coming out from hibernation. How an earth do they survive all that cold weather.

What an excellent day out.
A Red Admiral too; I've not seen any flutters yet.

Karen - thank you. Very colourful weed around the frogs!!

Roy - Amazed to get the Red Admiral - seems very early to me! Don't know how they survive but glad they do.

Bob - thank you. Parakeets can be very noisy at times and for that reason I can get to dislike them somewhat!

Keith - not a bad day at all. Fingers crossed spring will stay sprung :D

John thank you.... hope it keeps springing

OC - be your turn very soon ;)
