Can you imagine having this visitor to your garden?

I have family living there so - perhaps a trip is called for.........

On the other hand - where to stop? I have friends who deplore the fact that I have planted non-native species in my garden! According to them there should only be LOCAL native species! I have to take the view that if they were to breed and become significant in numbers in this country, they would not be popular with many people, particularly farmers.

Yoke, said...: Wow, Tricia. Eagle Owls have long been my favourite birds. And if you have seen the programme on the Beeb about the species, you would realise that they had been native most likely in England too.

In Holland, where they are still living free in quarries, they cause no trouble to farmers or locals.

They mostly live on other, wild and much loved, species, like Hedgehogs and Barn/Tawny Owls.
Which is why the UK people would not likely let it live where it is. Yet it also is a reason for farmers not to be worried about their lambs.; 11 October 2008 at 12:46
