A sunny walk

A friend of mine rang me this morning and suggested, as the sun was shining, that we went for a walk - excellent idea so we went off to Bushey Park. The sun was not only shining but was warm!! Although I had my camera, the emphasis was on walking and doing the cardiovascular bit to get the circulation going etc. etc.

However, the sun on a couple of coots was just too hard to resist:

On one of the ponds in the Woodland Gardens a couple of Egyptian Geese swam towards us...

And we came across this group of Red Deer stags who were enjoying a doze and being lazy in the warm sunshine

And my first camelia of the year

The level of water in the streams and ponds was markedly high. I've never seen water gushing out of the pipes (from the streams) with the force of today.

An enjoyable walk with some good exercise and great company. Thank you IHD.

Once again lovely photos Tricia. I like the Egyptian Geese, and the stags. The shot of the Camelia plant, do you have macro setting? a close up of the centre would also look good, just a thought.

Good to see you're out & about - I enjoyed the picture walk, much better than being trapped indoors working. Lol FAB.

Glad the sun is shining again for you after all that cold weather. The camelia is beautiful and a sign of things to come!

Paul - might try playing a bit more with the camelia. The picture has already been cropped once but...
I took this with my 100-400mm lens and on a focal length of 400. I have a macro setting but with that lens it really doesn't make much difference.

FAB - it was great to get out after all the rain this week - or more accurately - escape!

Phil - thanks; they did help by just sitting there!

Mick - at last it shone and it's great to have the promise of Spring. My Australian cousin is coming over from Adelaide a week from today - he's in for a bit of a shock!

Lovely shots of the deer. There's no sign of our Camelia yet, it's been covered in snow until today and now we're expecting more.
