Dunnock.. heralding Spring..

I was down with Mum earlier in the week and the sun was shining in a very blue sky.

Perched aloft on a bush in her garden, this Dunnock was singing its wonderful song; and being replied to from another garden. Lovely stuff!!

Lovely photos. This is the bird song I associate with early spring more than any other - there was one singing in our garden this morning.....

Phil - thank you... couldn't agree more..

John.. It's a wonderfully tuneful song; especially for a bird that's so often overlooked.

Roy... hasn't it just!

Kerry...very similar aren't they! Your songster looks a cross between our Dunnock and House Sparrow.

Trevor - thank you - I was lucky with the sun on the Dunnock for a clearer than usual shot!

Terrific photos. I can nearly see its vocal chords on that last amazing shot! I googled their song, and enjoyed listing to a youtube version :)

I always like to hear dunnocks singing, which I thinks sounds like they're having a good, excited natter.

Glo - thank you..it's a wonderful song to hear.

Keith - thank you... aren't they just!

OC - I wish you could hear them :)

Paul - they may be rather drab in appearance but they do make up for it in song.

Foody - that's a great description. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment :D

Do they know something we don't? No frogs here yet but a Mistle Thrush was singing all morning, amongst others, and I've had a Hedgehog about all week.
