Where have all the birds gone?

Happy Birthday Pete ;)

I went over to Barnes today; the weather and light weren't very good and it was very light of birds.

A Female Pochard sleeps with one of its two young.

And not that far away, a very new family of four young Little Grebes. They could only be a couple of days old and, in the main, they stayed hidden with Mum in the reeds. One did venture out cautiously but...

The flowers provided most of the interest for the day :)

The Wild Flower Garden is looking beautiful and very colourful.

And that's about it - a short post today.

The variety of wild flowers is wonderful. Must try to get over to Barnes again soon if circumstances allow.
