Polesden Lacey - on a dull day....

The National Trust gardens and house of Polesden Lacey are not far from me; I decided I hadn't been for a while and popped over the other day. It was very grey and dull but good to get out in the fresh air. I didn't do the very long walk through the estate and around it but just stayed around the gardens.

Planted with Tulips in the spring, this border was full of wild flowers... lovely

In the Rose Garden now and I heard a Chiff-Chaff singing... amazingly late; I thought they'd have all left by now. I was then rewarded with the sight of it dashing about in a nearby bush. Lovely! :D

Surprisingly the rose garden was still blooming.. really odd this year with the timing of the flowers... Roses are normally associated with June flowering.

High up, the weather vane looked grey against the grey sky.

I'd made a decision to take the 150mm macro lens and the Panny today. I did miss the reach of the 100-400 and the width of the 18-50 but got some interesting perspective on some of the statutory,

but by now I had changed lens...

Was good to stretch my legs.....

I love the wild look of the rock garden area you showed toward the end.
