Warnham Nature Reserve - with a posy Kingfisher

Was going shopping, so put camera in car and went via Warnham..

Transpired it was a good choice today, as the Kingfisher posed nicely for a while.

The sun was bright, which was good, put presented fairly glarey light on the water.. Nonetheless, was good to get some fresh air and great to have the Kingfisher posing!

The sheep are still in the wildflower meadow..

and from the Aston hide.. the Kingfisher really showed well..

Great to see Greenfinches back again!

Saw 1 Little Grebe.. seems there are 4 about!

Great detour to basic household shopping :)

Lancing College

Lancing College was playing host to a craft fair this weekend, so my daughter and I paid a visit.

The Chapel is beautiful but I didn't go inside today.

So just a few pics of the building and views.. I will go back soon

The plan was to go for a walk after our craft fair visit.. but the wind was howling, it was cold and raining so walk postponed for another day!

West Dean Gardens dressed for Autumn

Brrr.. at 03.00 a.m. this morning, the moonlight was amazing.  I could see the surrounding houses quite clearly.  At light dawned, the frost became apparent.  And as I left to go out later, the car told me it was 3 degrees.  Which is a bit of a shock given the temperatures yesterday of about 19!!.

However I went off to West Dean Gardens where the temperature rose to about 11 degrees but the sun was glorious!!

 I've no idea how many sheep are at West Dean, but must run into hundreds.  Always a delight to see

The whole building is covered in scaffolding.. I understand this is for roof repairs.
