I went back upto the London Wetland Centre today; not much about but an abundance of Little Grebes - some of which were having quite viscous fights. Needless to say I wasn't ready for the fast movement but...
There were many Little Grebes in the reserve today...
it was there a minute ago!!
Upended Gadwalls..
many Little Grebes were fighting - 4 of the at one time!! Some of the pics not that good but the speed at which they whizzed across the water was incredible..
and with Panasonic G3 with 45mm lens
and around my garden
The wisteria starting to be in leaf; no idea what colour it's going to be though... just hope the frost and anticipated snow later this week doesn't kill off the new growth!!

Those little grebes have such an innocent look, but I wouldn't want to see one coming toward me at speed! Another round of lovely shots.
Nice action series going on with the Grebes...very fun:) Looks like your garden is getting into full swing:)
I think you did exceptionally well to capture all that frantic territorial action. I watched similar goings on with male Mallards trying to drown each other recently!
What a wonderful and varied selection of photos, so clear and bright. A belated happy birthday to you!
I love the shots of the grebes running across the water. Very cute reptile.
Loving your blog! Your photos are stunning. Thank you!
Super Grebe Shots Tricia and super macros with the G3.
HI Wilma - me neither; I had no idea they could be so aggressive!
Hi Rohrebot... thanks - spring is springing.
Frank - I was lucky that we had good light!! and boy! - they do move fast. Saw you were 'down my way' recently... I must explore Pagham..
