My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

and finally, we leave Paris

We've been remarkably lucky with the weather - despite forecasts that we would have varying amounts of rain, we had hardly any - until our last morning this is.  It was grey and wet... however, we set off after our usual, and by now, customary, breakfast.  Initially it was not actually raining... but it wasn't to last.

We walked over one of the Seine's bridges and past the Louvre... today there was a queue to get in but not the masses of people on previous days!

Having been to the Saint-Eustache Church yesterday and discovered a sign suggesting no photography was allowed (we'd seen several people taking pics but we observed the signs), Pete suggested we go back as volunteers were available on weekdays.  We did find someone to ask and he indicated that yes, we could take pictures. This was really pleasing as it's an amazing church and building.

And it was still raining!

So back to the hotel to pick up our luggage and find a cafe for lunch.

Omelettes and a last glass of wine in the Cafe de Flore before...

we headed off on the Metro to the .... Gare du Nord to catch our train home...

I'll post a synopsis tomorrow.... :)

Sounds like a great holiday :) Thanks for sharing. Well done on getting to the top of the Eiffel Tower - I would have frozen at ground level!!!
