Polesden Lacey - a 1930s Christmas

Today I met a very good friend for a visit to Polesden Lacey.  We had been expecting a foggy day but the sun was glorious....

We had a short wander waiting for the house to open.

The entrance..

Daffodils looking ready to bloom!! Far too early..

It was atmospherically misty in the valley

 .
The house is decorated in the style of Mrs. Greville's 1930s Christmas.. it was glorious

The entrance hall to the house.. Mrs. Greville's 17 foot Christmas Tree

The Servant Quarters

Then a spot of lunch!! and out for a wander in the garden

The garden shed.. currently occupied by Santa and his helpers

All 13 named chickens have a Christmas stocking

A great day out in lovely if not unexpected sunshine... thank you IHD for you company as ever.

You'd have thought the cold snap would shut the daffs down! Curious to see what's in the cemetery this weekend, there's certainly new shoots growing
