Widewater Lagoon for Red Breasted Mergansers

I'd heard that the Red Breasted Mergansers were back at Widewater.  So give we actually had some sunshine today I headed off there en route to food shopping.

There were 2 x male and 2 x female when I arrived.  The two males were not happy in each others company and after a while, one of the males flew off out over the sea.

There was a lot of reflection on the water, which made photographing the birds (who were quite far away) a bit of a challenge, but at the same time produced some lovely colour effects.
