It's an Essex weekend again; I headed off for
Audley End Gardens and House. Not a place I've visited before, but followers of Pete's blog may recognise quite a bit of the gardens.
The weather has been dire recently with such grey skies that they de-colour nearly everything - today being no exception.
I've recently bought a new camera (Canon 7D) and this was the first time I was able to get out to take any pictures; so it was a good time to judge how well, or otherwise it would perform in poor light.
These finale two pictures (and the one above) have been cropped and slightly edited - all were taken at Rye Meads; it was very bird-light today and as my visit was now late afternoon, almost twilight!!
Great to get out for a day and tomorrow.... we have more musical entertainment :D

Some lovely Autumnal shots :-)
Great to have new toys to play with, and it's a lovely camera.
Performs well in dull conditions, but just you wait till a sunny day :-)
Lovely set of pictures Tricia, especially the Black Swan.
i recognise that one :D pics are sharper but as our mutual friend di would say read the f**ing manual :D
as one or two have focus and exposure issues :D
That would be 'flippin' manual then Pete, would it?!!
I've heard that this camera can take some getting used to. I would like to get my hands on one to try, as I rather fancied one myself, when funds allow, of course. No chance at the moment.
Anyway, I think most of the images are fine for a first outing with it.
Oh my, the autumn shots are breathtaking. The birds, fabulous.
Lovely pics, Tricia - bet you are well pleased with your new camera (sighs - green with envy :D).
And oh yes, I am still reading my camera manual!
it would di, of course I am a big manual reader as you now :D
as to trying one.... :D
