Well... I've been missing from Blogland recently and also taking very few pictures.
Two reasons - mainly I'm in the throws of moving house and getting all the essential utilities in place... nearly there on that one and next week should see me moving in! woo hoo
Secondly, because of all this activity, added to which it's been bitterly cold and some days just down right dull, I've not had much opportunity to get out either birding or otherwise, with the camera.. but I'm getting very twitchy and suffering from withdrawal symptoms; therefore I was pleased to know the cameras were still working today!
Today I took some more belongings over to the new above to get things stowed away. I'd noticed the previous day, 11 Redwings sitting in a distant tree.
Well today got even better; the redwings were still about but had now been joined by at least one fieldfare. And said fieldfare was sitting in the small tree/bush which is just the other side of my garden fence.
The light was appalling but nonetheless managed a record shot.. the first birdy picture from my new home!
And it's the tree at the far end of my garden in the middle of this picture.
In addition I've had a robin, blackbirds, blue tits, great tits, and loads of House Sparrows. Two feeders are already up and a blue tit was already tucking in to the sunflower hearts within half an hour of the feeder being there... I think I'm going to enjoy my feathered visitors.

Best of luck with the move Tricia.
Not the best time of year to do it.{:)
Hope your transitions are coming to a close soon. Love your backyard. Beautiful!
Hope the move goes well Tricia. Those birdy visitors will soon make you feel at home :-) Well done with the Fieldfare.
You are off to a great start, Tricia!
Here's hoping the move goes smoothly. Looks as though your new garden is going to have some interesting feathered visitors.
Good luck with the house move Tricia. Good birding start with the fieldfare and redwings!
Hi Tricia - happy moving... great to see your picture of the Fieldfare - I was just commenting on my recent posting that I'm sure we've got a whole lot less of these birds at the moment - usually we see them in the garden along with the Redwings but as yet I've seen few Fieldfares and virtually no Redwings at all... perhaps they are still to come? Take care Miranda
Hi Tricia - happy moving! Great to see the Fieldfare on your posting - great picture as they're not easy to photograph. I was only commenting on my recent posting that I'm sure we don't have nearly the same numbers of Fieldfares in Brittany and also v. few Redwings too - perhaps they are still to come? Take care Miranda
I love your garden area. And, it's so private too. It's going to be beautiful when filled with the colours of flowers.
