A homeward detour to Ightham Mote

Well, again all good things must end and today it was homeward bound.  We had a couple of stops on the way, the first being a rather interesting church - All Saint's at Tudeley.  It has some remarkable stained glass windows by Marc Chagall and these were made as a tribute to a 21-year old young lady who died as a result of a sailing accident at Rye.  The colours are wonderful.

Not much further on and we stopped at Ightham Mote  which was a first visit for me.  A moated manor house and pretty garden with a wilder area beyond the pond.

A good few days albeit the weather left a lot to be desired... but yesterday was really summer-like and today - at least it was dry.

(and blogger still seems to have some problems in uploading pictures.... unless it's me of course!!)

Love the header photo.
Well done with the stained glass windows, a very difficult subject to photograph.

Fantastic glass in the church windows. I love the carving on the wall. Looks like a lion. Great shots once again.
