Afternoon out in Thaxted

After yesterday when 'rain stopped play' today, after a dodgy start, the sun came out and we had summer back again.

So where to?  A trip over to Thaxted - a walk around the village, a peep inside the windmill and the church.

We clambered up the near vertical and very narrow stairs between floor in the windmill rewarded with good views at each level.

After a visit to the church, we went into Poppy's tea room for a thirst quenching cold drink and some rather yummy Double Ginger Cake and Luscious Lemon cake; both with a rather generous serving of clotted cream... lurvely..

This one (a Morgan) is on my Christmas list.... ;)
