My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

Widewater Lagoon and mergansers

Set off to go to Warnham |LNR... it was shut... could be flooded.

So off to Widewater Lagoon in search of Mergansers - saw 7 in total.

After Widewater, I  decided to go to Pulborough Brooks - The A27 was solid with traffic so decided to go another route... that road (from Shoreham) was blocked off at the roundabout, by a police car.... grrrrrrrr

Went another way to Pulborough Brooks....which was flooded and cafe shut - and it was lunch time

So, decided to grab something at Tesco's and go to Petworth Park... The road from Pulborough to Petworth was closed... the road was flooded.

So went to Tesco's... did some shopping, got some petrol and came home!  Exciting day...

But the sky was blue and the sun shone at Widewater

Two groups of Little Grebes totaling about 12

A group of 6 (4 female and 2 males) Red-breasted Mergansers on Widewater.  A 7th, a male, was away from the others in the other part of the lagoon (record shots only)

Redshank

 The family of swans

But the sunshine & blue sky were lovely :D

Yeah... it did begin to feel like that Roy... the main object was to get some exercise and fresh air but spent more time in the car I think... hey ho :)

But I can now enjoy the wind and rain all over again!
