This robin in the car park was so tame that we were within 6 inches of it and it was quite happy to sit there watching us..
As we walked we heard, then saw, two Dartford Warblers flash past us... wonderful.... It was still before 8.30 a.m. so no pics.. light not good enough and they were far too fast. Also Marsh Harrier, and later, Coal Tits and Goldcrests.
Four Red Deer watched us as we watched them.
A female stonechat posed in the distance..
Bitingly cold wind and eventually back to the car for a read while we waiting for the Tea Rooms to open.
And very well worth the wait it was. Rob, Sconemaster Extraordinaire, had already cooked 2 scones so we shared...
Salmon & Dill
Butternut Squash & Bacon..
Coming out of the oven in 5 minutes was Stilton & Cranbury - so we shared one of these as well
All three were delicious but the Butternut Squash, and the Stilton tied for first place
The day was young, so onto Flatford Mill for a walk
and of course, we couldn't resist a Mince Pie Scone and a cuppa... again an excellent scone!
A visit to the local church, St Marys at Bergholt..
A rather nice day out..... and yum yum to the scones and I finally got to have a Mince Pie Scone
