Dunwich, Dartford Warbler, Scones, a Castle and an unusual chapel

We headed off early and before 9.0 a.m. we were walking over Dunwich Heath in glorious sunshine - the weather was .. glorious!!!

A Stonechat posed.. but record shot only

Think there must have been at least 4 Dartford Warblers... this one was the only one to stay still... briefly!!

There were oversize deckchairs at the National Trust visitors area... near the cafe

and the purpose of the visit... Rob & his team of the National Trust cafe were baking and serving scones - 25 varieties .. for the July Sconethon!! YUM YUM

Blueberry & Lemon

Raspberries & Cream

Pimms Inspired & Strawberries & Cream

Ponders gives his upmost approval

And from there off to Framlingham Castle  but not before we had a stop at Shawgate Vineyard.. where a purchase, or two, was made.

We set off to have a look round the church, but a wedding was taking place.. beautiful day for a wedding.

and this Morgan was outside the church door during the service.. nice one!!

and a wander around the village.. was market day..

From there we drove to see Walpole Old Chapel

But first... lunch.... which was another 3 scones (shared of course) from Rob at Dunwich Heath

Apricot and Almond, Chocolate & Chilli and Cherry & Marzipan - another excellent group :D

and finally a drive home... and of course we had to stop at The Food Company for some cheese..

An excellent day out :D
