We were up and silly o'clock on a very cold icy morning but with promise of good weather to come... off to London on the tube
Today it was Fido who had a trip up to town.
First stop when we got there was breaky in Pret.. our first of three visits to a Pret that day.
Then off into Hyde Park and Kensington Garens.... the sky was blue and the sun was shining!!
Clarence and Fido had a game of ping pong
Mute Swan
Egyptian Geese
Dozens of swans about
Many Cormorants..
A pair of Gadwall
Tufted Duck
Ring-necked Parakeets
Off to the area where normally lots of small birds, Great Tits, Blue Tits Robins etc are normally keen to come to feed from our hands.
Today... one Robin in that area but many Parakeets.
They rather liked the cheese we had to offer....
We walked a little further, where we found a Coal Tit - which came and fed from our hands.. no pics.. but an amazing experience.. felt very privileged.... two or three Great Tits visited but quite bird light other than that..
A Black-headed Gull which seemed to be getting its summer plumage..
A female Shoveller..
and a Latte for Pete and a Mocha for me... with Fido keeping guard
then to Wigmore Hall for the Atrium Quartet who played beautifully...
Prokofiev's String Quartet No. 1 in B minor Op. 50
and
Brahms, String Quartet in A minor Op. 51 No. 2
and then treated us to an encore of
Andante Cantabile from Tchaikovsky's String Quartet No. 1
Really great day out.... in great company as ever....
