Ickworth -the Battle of Waterloo- on a summerlike day in April

We headed off to Ickworth... today we were after a particular book.. the National Trust Book of Scones written by an acquaintance who also blogs about mouth watering scones of the National Trust Properties 

There was only 1 copy of the book left, so we bought that one ..

There was an event on at Ickworth over the weekend - 95th Rifles Battle of Waterloo ..

The off to the cafe for a very tasty Easter Simnel Scone of the Month

Followed by a wander around the back of the house..

Out passed the events fields where the 'military' were camping..

Before a walk down through the walled garden..

Lots of lambs out in the field..

and around the lake.

So after that lovely visit, off to Melford Hall to track down a 2nd copy of the book.. they DIDN'T HAVE ONE so next stop Lavenham where we managed to buy the 2nd copy of the book.. and of course, how could we NOT have another scone..
