My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

Birds with Snow Bunting..

I was on my way elsewhere this morning, when I made a diversion via Goring Gap.  I'd heard (thanks to Nick Bond) of the Snow bunting.. so, as I had the camera etc. in the car, so I stopped.  It was really cold in a biting wind but...

Got lucky, the tide was in and on the field were Ringed Plovers, Dunlin and two Skylarks... also various gulls.

Ringed Plovers... several of them about

Skylark

Dunlins

and the Snow Bunting.  It seem totally unfazed by passers by and those of us with cameras.  It was there for a good half an hour after I arrived and had been there some time earlier.  Only flew when a dog chased it!! and said dog completely unchecked by its owner.

Fox, Birds, Beach & Warnham LNR

This fox is a regular visitor to my home.  S/he sits and waits outside my neighbour's door, as she feeds him/her every morning.

On my way to my daughters I stopped at Goring Gap.. There were at least 4 Skylarks on the ground!  Pity they were far away and wouldn't face me! ..

Met my daughter and grandson..we had lunch at Sea Lane Cafe.. this was our lunch time view. It was warm enough to sit outside in the shelter of the wind.

and then I called in at Warnham LNR on my way home.. the light was going but some beautiful colours.

Impromptu Birding..

I was meeting my daughter & grandson today for a snack lunch down by the beach.

I left early and stopped at a local field right by the beach.. good time of year to find birds.

The 'catch' 1 Brent Goose, various Gulls including 2 Med Gulls, 3 Skylarks, Mixed flock of sever Dunlin, Sanderlings, Ringed Plovers, Turnstones .. and a fellow birder, Nick which was a nice surprise.

It was very dull and overcast so ...first 3 pics... record pics only..

Then lunchtime at the Sea Lane Cafe.. good as ever!!

The sun came out so, as the tide was now a reasonable way out, I wandered down to the beach..

Probably over 100 in the flock of small birds feeding as the tide went out.. Sanderlings and Dunlin.. not to mention very many gulls...

This bird is ringed!

And then all the birds flew up.... chased by a dog... the whole beach was empty except for me and the dog walker!!!  I was obviously standing taking pictures... the dog walker couldn't have cared less!!

The sun didn't last for long.... so time to go..

Great to see my daughter & grandson.. and a really good outing of impromptu birding.!!
