WWT Arundel...but dipped again..

I went over to Arundel this morning.  But, despite the blue skies, the warm sun and lack of wind (to begin with) those little Water Voles stayed hidden.  I'd gone out on one of the Electric Boats in the hope of seeing them, but, alas, no....

The Peregrine Falcon had been on it's perch high on the hill earlier but not there now... and the Kingfisher spotted from the Scrape Hide was nowhere to be seen either.

I did, however, see a hovering Kestrel and the 7 Common Buzzards catching the updrifts of air high above the hill.

It was generally quiet this morning, so just a few pics.

It was a glorious day and this youngster bathed in the sunlight

A distant view...

Mallard having a rest...

And these were all taken whilst on the boat ride...

a Mute Swan had a wash and brush up..

Views of Arundel Castle

A very obliging Little Grebe - not in the last shy and it was almost to close to the boat, to focus on.

Around in the 'collection' birds, a couple of them were having a fight!

and Mallards wandered through the greenery..

Looks lovely, at least you had sun and warm. Was grey all day here, jumper and jacket necessary when walking Maisie.

That castle reminds me of the Robin Hood episode of Star Trek the Next Generation. Very beautiful area.

It was so productive for you on this "quiet" day.

The "distant view" is beautiful. Great bird shots as always.
