Autumnal Sheffield Park Gardens before Warnham NLR

My original plan was to go to Warnham NLR and then onto Tescos for food shopping.

BUT..

the sun was shining, and it was windless so I decided to go to Sheffield Park Gardens...

However by the time I got there (roadworks in Haywards Heath delayed the journey somewhat).. clouds gathered and the breeze got up... however, I did manage a wander around and at least got some fresh air and exercise!

The Pulham Waterfall is only operated as certain times and today is was 12.00 till 1.00 p.m

First pic.... as it is normally seen - dry

The water starts to flow

until finally, in full spate... not seen this before!

Only distant views are possible to see the entire waterfall, but I did manage to get a little closer but only some of the waterfall was visible!

Had to go food shopping on the way home, so went via Warnham LNR

Very quiet - Canada Geese and a few Greylags starting to arrive and dozens of gulls.

Cormorants out on the tern raft..

Around in the feeding area just a few blue and great tits.. until this Great Spotted Woodpecker dropped in for a feed of the fat provided in the old tree stump

Surprisingly, a couple of chickens... the light wasn't good so only managed this shot.. but some beautiful colouring..

and a view of the main lake from the Tern Hide

off home via Tesco... not a bad way to go shopping!
