The water was frozen over at this end of the lake. All the distant white 'bits' are gulls - hundreds of them!!
Further along, the water was covered in visiting gulls..
High on the top of the tree and robin sang..
Around the feeders - usual culprits including Nuthatch, Coal Tit (too fast for a pic) and two male Reed Buntings..
From the Heron hide... the gulls were bathing... a huge quantity of them eventually flew off to contiue their journey..
Tufties were preening..
Then the Kingfisher appeared. Initially hiding in the nearly bushes..
Then came so close to the hide. At one point (no photo) is sat just outside the only window that doesn't open and was too dirty to take a pic through... both of these were through a different window... we didn't dare open it or the bird would have flown.
On the way out, a wren was gathering nesting material (?) from the rushes..
A pleasant stroll but glad to get home in the warm for a cuppa..... at least I've escaped snow ... so far!!
