I hadn't time to go far so I had a wander around my new village and visited the parish church. It's a lovely church within beautiful grounds. I understand from a chap in the church (yes it was open today - lucky me) that the spire is only one of 5 like it in the UK. The church roof consists of wooden tiles.
The spire today had an added element - a young man who was right at the top. Apparently the lightening conductor needs replacing and today was the day it was being done. They couldn't have chosen a better day weather wise.
I also wanted to use the Panasonic GF1 with the 45 mm lens (macro).
Rather a lot of pics to plough through - but the sun was shining and I got carried away :D
Note: the young "mountaineer gave me his permission to use the pictures in my blog!!

You wouldn't get me up where that fellow is, lol. The flowers look lovely. And a bee, sigh, I can't wait. Is that statue in your garden? It's pretty neat.
Rather him than me and yes, what a beautiful day it was. I spent it travelling around Hampshire and finished by eating fish n chips at Hayling Island, after which I had to head back home.

Lovely photos Tricia and it looks as though you live in a beautiful village. I love the "griffon" head. The pics of the "young mountaineer" made me go "jelly-legged"!
Cracking series of photos Tricia. The stained glass windows came out really well - not an easy subject - and the macro shots are beautifully clear.
Thanks for sharing your sunshine. The view from the steeple-top must have been stunning - surprised you didn't climb up to take some photos! ;-)
