Incredible scenery and Bodnant Gardens

Again the weather was kind to us... white clouds and sunshine ... it won't last though...

We set off and had only gone a couple of miles before stopping the car... the scenery was spectacular. Fortunately there were a couple of places we could pull in for a photo opportunity.

Standing there looking out over the lake we spotted some birds flying - Gooseanders!  wowee.. a couple of males and three females in total.  Also spotted a Garden Warbler and two Great Crested Grebes.

We were there for some time..

Before reaching our main destination for the day, we stopped off at a small church in Dolwyddelan

On the opposite side of the road was a field of sheep.. this one was rather curious..

and then on to NT Bodnant Gardens... beautiful..  we walked for a bit then had 'lunch'... just one slice of cake each (and the very nice guy serving us did voluntarily find us the biggest slice :D  ) and a drink... and later we had a cuppa.. and nothing else!!

I'll leave you with a tour of the gardens..

Managed to spot some Beautiful Demoiselles, and an Orange Tip flutter in addition to various blue and large red Damselflies... but not many butterflies seen at all yet this year!

Just one word "Wow" :)

Looking at all those pics of the scenery just makes me smile, and a huge sigh of contentment, knowing I live in amongst some of that, within an hour anyway.

The gardens are amazing too, hope I can visit that one day.

Looks like you have had great weather again, so pleased for you, we've had a couple of showers from 1pm but now it looks set for the night now. Boooo!
