A morning at Polesden Lacey

The day started foggy and finally the sun came out.  Had a visit to Polesden Lacey on the spur of the moment!

Giant Chess set.

The daffodils are starting to go over now... next it will be summer flowers.. I hope!

Real English Bluebells :)

Cowslips

Two of the chickens  - all the others  were hiding around the tree

The house was quite crowded today, so I didn't take many pics... just had a wander..

Decided to head off as the sun was going... in fact when I finally got home the drizzle had started.

I did pop in to Warnham on my way home.  Two Avocets had arrived at 10.00 that morning.  Apparently this is a first for Warnham.  A Little Egret was also there.. other than that, fairly quiet around the reserve and feeders.

This is a record shot to beat all record shots... the two avocets having a rest!!

Rounds by the feeders all was very quiet.. but a robin was in full song....

and a Chaffinch popped in for a snack.

and tomorrow?  dodging the rain I suspect!!

Your photos are wonderful. They make me feel like I"m taking a little vacation from my life and flying across the pond! In particular, that ancient looking huge woody vine caged by the chicken wire is incredible. I very much enjoyed your post.

Felicia.. thank you for your comments :)And glad you enjoyed your visit this side of the pond.

The vine is Wisteria which will look wonderful once it comes into flower... I hope to go back to see it then.

OC - thank you as always. The bluebells are just beginning and it was lovely to see some native bluebells growing :)
