My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

A train journey to Certaldo..

After brekkie we headed off for the station and a train to Certldo.

There's the 'new' town where the station is but we were destined for the Old Town at the top of the funicular - which is  157 feet high.  However, the funiculoar was closed - seemed to be because of building works.  So we caught the small shuttle bus up to the old town ... lovely views as we drove up... and again when we got to the top.

It seems that, in Certaldo, nothing  much opens on a Tuesday out of season so the church/museum was a no go area.

More pics at the end of the week when home but just a taster for now
