Well..... not what I'd planned for today.... I should have been going north to Yorkshire with Pete but a family situation meant I had to cancel.. as least for the first part of the hols.
I'd heard that Petworth House had scheme where visitors to go up on top of the roof that is undergoing repairs... so of I trotted to have a view
I got there early and paid for my ticket .... and then had some time to spare.
A wander down to the pond... a pair of Great Crested Grebes had two young.. no pics.. wrong lens today.
On the top of the roof the scaffolding... this is where we were headed.
We were about to climb up the right hand section of scaffolding.
Part of the roof that is being mended..
and then the views out over the park
(not possible to get pics without scaffolding,,, but it was there for our safety)
A great experience to see the surrouding areas from this height.
The tour up to the top was made most enjoyable by our 3 NT guides/volunteers, Mike, Andrew and Roger... thanks to all of you for a really great experience .... :)

Viewing from a height opens up a whole new aspect on the countryside. It's some years since I last had a look from local church towers or spires.
