My blog is mostly about wildlife, particularly birds, walking, days out, all growing things and anything else that comes to mind.

Standen... in pouring rain.. but colour prevailed!!

The forecast for this Easter weekend is not good.. mostly the four days will be wet!!

Standen has the most wonderful display of tulips... I thought it might be too early given the cold and snow we've had recently.. I was right... nowt showing just yet.. probably about a couple of weeks... hopefully they will be there when I can next go in a couple of weeks!!

Nonetheless, there was a great deal of spring colour and the Daffodils were still looking good.

Some of the tulips waiting to flower!!

The Quarry is being renovated.. so still not possible to walk into the main area.. but some goods views are available..

Looking down into the quarry from the bridge... the umbrellas are to protect the tree ferns below, from frost etc....

Looking out to the water.. and wishing the rain would stop and the sun would shine!!

The Bothy...

Fido, Fergus & Flynn... said 'yes' to the bunk.. quite comfy..

and then into the cafe for a pleasant fruity scone for lunch..

and a visit to the house... It's an excellent example of a fine Arts & Crafts house with  Morris & Co. influence throughout... I could easily live in this house.... it's currently arranged to reflect how it would have been in 1925..

Into the conservatory...

"Don't mind if we do.. thank you Standen!"

Right off home.. I passed these sheep on the way and it was safe to stop..  this 'heap' of sheep rather amused me..

the minute I got out of the car to take pictures.. the entire flock (just a few of them here) came rushing towards the railings.. bleating loudly!!
