I met a friend today, at Wisley Gardens... there was sunlight and cloud and a bitterly cold wind. but the spring flowers, crocuses, hellebores and snowdrops etc. were reward enough.
This is a new area under construction...
Masses of crocuses in the Conifer Lawn looking lovely
Hellbores
A walk through the Pinetum...along the fast flowing river
Into the bird hide... a treecreeper
and a Kingfisher
Loads of the usual visitors
and walking through the Pinetum
and a surprise find.. a pair of Little Grebes on the pond by the Glasshouse togethere with a few tufties..
In the orchards.. several Redwings.. who didn't want to be photographed
This sculpture is amazing.. it's made of steel .. and looks so realistically like Dandelion Clocks you feel you could blow it away...
In the Alpine House
one of a pair of Robins
and a definite pair of Mallards who knew it was Springtime.. watch this space for ducklings!!
A lovely wander.. thank you IHD for your company and much needed support..
and on the way home at Bramley.. wonderful view of a low-flying and under-lit Red Kite .. pity I was driving!!
