Widewater Lagoon & Warnham LNR.. a lovely day!

I had a day with a friend today.. started at Widewater Lagoon... boy it was cold in the very strong wind on the coast.. BUT the sun shone, the clouds scudded..  We met a couple of friends there and had a wander.. we were hoping for the Meregansers, but they weren't playing ball today.

A little Egret kept us on our toes - except that the Little Egret was shy of one member of  the party.. and.... disappeared quite frequently when he approached .. ;)

and then after a wander, we headed of to Shoreham Fort (no pics as nothing about so we didn't stay long) and then off to Warnham LNR

There were several Mute Swans on the mill pond.. unusually!!

From the Woodpecker Hide.. managed a shot of a Nuthatch.. I  didn't see the Brambling today

And then we wandered along the boardwalk.. the water was high !

We reached the (newish) Kingfisher Hide..

Some lovely cattle about with such warm friendly faces.. Don't know the breed but fell in love with them..

Also saw a couple of Jays, and a pair of Grey Wagtails.. who just wouldn't pose properly for a picture!

And a couple of Grey Herons..

A great day out, in excellent company, thank you D x,  and so good to meet up with you K & S.. xx AND heard my first Chiff Chaff of this year.. Spring is officially here :D
