Claremont and Painshill...and a little bit of sun!

I had some domestic duties this morning; one of them was buying some more sunflower seeds for my mother - they've gone DOWN in price!

When I arrived at the shop, a blue tit was foraging amongst the pussy willows... I had the camera in the car!

Early afternoon so I had a wander around Painshill Park... lots of bird activity

This is a new addition to the collection -= American Wood Duck.. not seen him before.

There's a resident flock of White Doves and this chappie was strutting his stuff
(as the males do... ;) )

Seems to have worked....... lol

A Greylag goose illustrated the saying "water of a goose's (duck's) back

A pair of Mandarins relaxed after lunch..

Then the sun came out for a while... what a difference.,
This Male Mandarin was off in haste...

And the Canada Goose was being ....... a Canada Goose

Painshill is just down the road from Claremont so I popped in for a few minutes.
Tim told me that the Grebes has started another nest. They've used this spot before.

Two Greylags chased along the lake as I was on my way back.

In the walled gardens, the flowers glowed in their shelter..

Just a couple of impromptu local visits that really paid off today...
I love Spring!!

Great Blue Tit photo - it makes a change to see one doing something apart from sitting on a branch lol.
My Snakes Head Fritillary is only just coming in to bud.
